RESOLVED – Claire Pickering was welcomed and joined the Parish Council.

184/25 LITTLE WEIGHTON PLAYING FIELD
Terra Tech Ltd contacted and awarded the Zip Wire Contract.
Yorkshire Water – Meter readings are being taken and reported, but no update on Yorkshire Water Billing.
Electricity Meter – no further update.
Giant Disc – Bearing is ready to instal; however, ground is too soft to bring the equipment on. (Waiting for ground to harden).
Lottery Grant Decision – Application was unsuccessful.
Bowls Club update (Buildings and Admin) – Confirmation from the committee received to allow a member of the bowls club to liaise with the Parish Council. Nigel Pearson has been delegated as contact. A copy of the Playing Field lease will now be sent to Nigel.
Changes to the Bowls Club Committee was noted. The new Treasurer is Tricia Hawksley, and the Secretary is Lynn Jubb.

25/03247/PLF – Change of use of domestic outbuilding for use as holiday accommodation (retrospective) at 6 Old Village Road, Little Weighton HU20 3US.
RESOLVED -That the Council object. The council object to the use of outbuildings and garages to provide separate accommodation intended to be used for the purposes of tourism. The commercialisation of residential properties should be prevented in line with policies S4 and ENV1 due to the detrimental effect on the residential amenity of neighbours. A condition to require only ancillary use and prevent a commercial use is requested should the application be approved.

ERYC confirmed on 12.11.25 that they had visited the site and confirmed that the former stable block does not appear to be being lived in.

Christmas Lights Switch On – The Council expressed their thanks to Mark & Joanne at the Black Horse for their generosity in providing Mulled Wine & Mince Pies for the Light Switch on.

The legal paperwork is going through, once signed, the new owner will be in touch with the parish council. |

SLCC Membership Renewal – RESOLVED That the membership will not be renewed until the new Parish Clerk commences.
191/25 WARD COUNCILLORS REPORT
Councillor Meredith was present at the meeting and provided a detailed update on several ongoing matters affecting the community.
Ongoing problems with EE mobile reception in the area was discussed. Plans are underway to carry out work on the existing masts to address these reception issues and improve overall connectivity for residents and businesses.
Councillor Meredith also highlighted the Combined Mayor’s office’s intention to scrutinise key transport networks. The primary objective of this review is to enhance access to employment opportunities and essential services, particularly for people living in deprived and isolated areas. The need for greater inclusion across the community was expressed.
192/25 HIGHWAYS
- Carriageway Improvement Programme – C26 White Gap Lane, High Hunsley. Construction to commence early January 2026.
- Bentley – Signpost damage & bollards reported– ERYC stated there is not any safety critical issues to address and therefore works will be ordered in April 2026 along with a reinspection of the reflective bollards.
193/25 GROUNDS MAINTENANCE
Tree Report – works update. Wold trees will return early January 2026 to complete works to the trees on ‘The Green’. It was requested that the trees are marked to identify which trees require the Christmas lights removing from.

David Robert Garden Services was thanked for his information regarding planting for the Parish. The council agreed that they would consider the information in the coming year, however requested that any photos of planters that are supplied have associated costs for the council to consider for the Parish.
