38/25   MINUTES

RESOLVED:   Minutes of the meeting held 5th February 2025 were then approved as a true & correct record.

39/25  LOCAL POLICING TEAM

Newsletter for Beverley Rural & Dale Ward received.

PC Kelly Edgar & Gary Gowen attended. The officers gave information of recent incidents, including non-payment for petrol at South Cave, Accident on Brick Dyke Lane.

Councillors discussed the high number of collisions at Riplingham Crossroads. There has been nine since November 2024.

The number of car parts left on the side of the road following accidents was discussed. PC Egar will  look into whose responsibility it is to collect the parts left from the accidents.

Speedwatch  – Dan Goodwin advised that he would be happy to attend a Parish Council meeting and give information on the speed watch programme.

40/25 – LITTLE WEIGHTON PLAYING FIELD

Quotation for remedial works was presented to Councillors from Hags.co.uk which was in excess of £8000. As the cost was excessively high for the works, it was agreed that a site meeting would take place on Wednesday 12th March 2025. Volunteers who expressed an interest in joining the playing fields working group would also be invited.

Pavilion Door repainting  –   Graffiti on changing room & store cupboard door. A quotation to be sought from Bentley Gold.

Playing Fields Water Meter  – Leak in the meter chamber reported to Yorkshire Water. Estimated date for repair is 18th April 2025.

41/25 PLANNING   – No planning received.

42/25  RWE – RENEWABLES

  1. Dogger Bank D  – Meeting to be held 14th March 2025 at Woodmansey Parish Hall. Councillors A.Woodall, S.Turner & J.Tunnicliffe will attend.

  • Northern Powergrid ‘North Humber to High Marnham’ – Statutory Consultation  commenced 18th February 2025 to 15 April 2025. Discussion took place regarding notices that had placed on Rowley Road regarding a storage compound on the railway cutting.

RESOLVED – The clerk will make further enquiries and report to next meeting.

  • Dogger Bank South – Minutes of meeting held 22.1.25 circulated to Council.- Noted.

43/25  ENFORCEMENT

Updates on enforcement issues will be sought from ERYC.

44/25 COMMUNICATIONS

  1. Newsletter –  Articles have been requested from village organisations for the April Edition
  2. Christmas Light Scheme – Fundraising event at the Black Horse raised funds for the

Village Lights. Discussion took place regarding potential solar lighting to feature the pond all year round.

  • VE Day 80th – Grants available for events held for the VE Day 80th. Beacon will be lit at High Hunsley on 8th May 2025 at 9.30pm. RESOLVED – To apply for a grant for a Portable Fire Extinguisher.

46/25  CORRESPONDENCE

ERYCScheme to replace existing bus shelters that are in poor condition or to install new bus shelters at stops where these currently do not exist. – To identify the need to replace or instal within the Parish. RESOLVED – No Bus Shelter to be replaced
LW Village HallMinutes of Meeting held 03.02.2025. New Hall Hire rate £35.00 wef 01.04.2025  – RESOLVED
Residents ConcernVerge Damage caused by Vehicle on Rowley Road. It was agreed that a ‘polite’ note is featured in the next newsletter asking residents to protect their verges by not parking on them.
ERYCTo note Budget Set for 2025/26 – An increase of 4.99 percent to council tax was agreed to help fund the continued delivery of essential services. – NOTED

Public Space protection orders

49/25 HIGHWAYS

  1. Chalk Path update – (Final Instalment – due by 20th March 2025) outputs and outcomes required, along with Questionnaire to be completed for funding closure. It was agreed that the questionnaire would be put in the next newsletter.
  2. Riplingham Crossroads (Near Riplingham Grange) – Further accidents reported. Humberside Police have written to ERYC with their safety concerns.
  3. Skidby Road/Risby Hill – Ownership – Councillor Hayton reported that the embankment on Skidby Road, was looking unsightly. Waste and trees have been fly tipped. – The Clerk will make enquiries with ERYC to see if their grounds team can tidy.
  4. Flytipping reported on Dunflat Lane.

50/25 GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

Report received from J.Tunnicliffe regarding North View Tree Concerns raised by Residents.

The report recommends seeking further advice regarding the pruning of the larger trees at the end of the footpath (within the pond fencing), when the trees are in leaf (Summer).

Pruning of the trees has already taken place.

Discussion took place and it was RESOLVED That no further action would be taken at this time. Property owners may prune any branches overhanging into their gardens.
