RESOLVED – That this item is deferred to January 3rd Parish Council Meeting when the application will be invited to attend.

178/23  LITTLE WEIGHTON PLAYING FIELDS

Equipment – Installation is dependent on the weather. Order has been placed.

Correspondence – Email received from resident.  This will be discussed in January 2024.  Ask what solutions residents have, what can be done to improve the Playing Fields.

  • RWE RENEWABLES – RWE have secured an investment partner, Masdar for the Dogger Bank South Offshore Wind Farm projects.  – NOTED
  • PLANNING ENFORCEMENT  – Hedge on The Butts to be discussed further with the Enforcement Officer.

  1. NEWSLETTER – Next edition to be distributed in March 2024.
  • CHRISTMAS LIGHT SWITCH ON – Event was well attended, with a lot more children this year.  RESOLVED – Surplus food/drink to be donated to Little Weighton Coffee Morning Group and the Foodbank.
  • SOCIAL MEDIA – Discussion took place.  Agreed for the Clerk to contact the Little Weighton Facebook Administrator to link a Parish Council Facebook page for the use of posting notices, information etc without any comments being allowed.  Any questions or comments need to be emailed to the Clerk@www.rowleyparishcouncil.gov.uk

East Riding Council – A164 Jocks lodge Improvement Scheme – Contractor Announced – Northern Ireland based construction firm ‘Graham’ has been awarded the contract.

East Riding Council – Government announced a proposed devolution deal for Hull & East Yorkshire. This could bring significant investment into the area, helping create more job opportunities and establishing a Hull & East Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, led by a directly elected mayor.

  • Precept for 2024/25  – RESOLUTION:  £29,400.00
  • Update on Funding Streams – Expression of interest approved and invited to make a full application to ERYC grants in respect of the Chalk Path, Rowley Road. Parish Council RESOLVED – That the application is make to the UKSPF funding via the ERYC Grant Portal.

185/23 HIGHWAYS

Chevron signage at entrance to Bentley is not secured to post – Clerk to chase with Highways.

Broken post & Chains (Green) to front of property on Walkington Road/Skidby Road Junction.  Clerk to chase with Highways.

Rowley Road Pavement repair  – Barriers placed by ERYC are still in place.  Clerk to chase with Highways officer to find out timescales, as reported as a safety concern.

Speed Bumps (Green Lane, Playing Field Entrance).  No update from ERYC Officer. Clerk will chase costing exercise, as last communications stated they would look at repair cost vs full replacement.

186/23  GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

Grit Bin for Potterdale Drive – East Riding Winter Services advised that the road does not meet the criteria for a grit bin.  Residents have also contacted the Parish Council and ERYC.

RESOLVED – That a Grit Bin will be purchased from Glasdon’s £179.72 plus Carriage.  Location to be agreed which will be maintained by the Parish Council.

TREES – Station View/The Butts.  – Waiting for date works will be scheduled.

There being no further business, the Parish Council meeting closed at 8.05.
