RESOLVED:   Minutes of the meeting held 6th March 2024, were then approved as a true & correct record.

Monthly Report received & noted for Dale Ward & Beverley Rural/Beverley Town.

50/24  LITTLE WEIGHTON PLAYING FIELDS

Equipment – Toddler Cradle seats delivered and have been installed with new chains and shackles. The height of the chains was questioned but later confirmed by supplier that the recommendation suggests no upper limit to seat height position, only lower. Image sent to supplier confirmed height was ok.

Two pieces of the Adult Exercise equipment requires removal for health and safety. RESOLVED  – Aggregate and Topsoil to be ordered to fill areas once removed.

Decision:

23/03895/TPO – Walkington 1972 – (REF 262) A5 – Crown reduce 1 no. Beech tree (T25) as illustrated to lessen the end loading and crown clean to remove crossing and abrasion damaged branches and severely suppressed growth; Fell 1 no. Beech tree (T26) due to risk of whole tree failure due to main stem fracture and maintain remaining stem as a deadwood habitat at Risby Park Farm, Risby Lane, Walkington HU17 8SS – Granted

  1. RWE RENEWABLES – Minutes of the RWE Dogger Bank South Community Liaison Meeting circulated.Letter to be sent asking for information relating to the community funds as 75% of these funds should be for Rowley Parish as it affects Bentley community more than any other parish.

52/24 COMMUNICATIONS

  1. NEWSLETTER – Distributed prior to Easter. Good response so far to keep the ‘Little Weighton Beacon’ in a printable format.
  2. SOCIAL MEDIA – Facebook page still to be progressed.
  3. ERYC Housing Needs Survey  –  Distributed by Housing Officer. Awaiting results of the Survey which are due early May.

Residents requestTo restrict parking outside the Post Office. Post Office is losing money daily when residents park vehicles outside shop for extended periods and nowhere for other customers to park. Councillor Meredith will discuss with Parking Team (ERYC)
Lieutenancy Officer  ERYCOfficial framed portraits of His Majesty the King are available to Town & Parish Councils –  Clerk has ordered.
ERYCTo consider Village Taskforce Walkabout 2024. – RESOLVED That a Village Taskforce Walkabout is requested.

  1. Budget Monitoring 01.04.23-05.03.2024 – RESOLVED Approved by all Councillors.
  2. Update on UKSPF Grant Funding application – Preferred Contractor: Wold Construction Ltd £26,900.72. (Nett) Funding Document signed £24,999. Waiting for further documentation from ERYC as informed that planning applications, bonds, and S278 agreements are now all to be applied for. RESOLVED – That a letter is sent to ERYC Officers as this is not acceptable as not advised that these permissions would be needed for a neglected ERYC owned path.
  3. Dogger Bank Operators Fund – applied for £1000 grant. Advised that this will now go to the Mid-April panel.
  4. Potential Community Funds &  Community Assets discussed.

56/24  WARD COUNCILLORS REPORT

Councillor Meredith reported on an accident that occurred near to Raywell Hall. County Council network meeting was held highlighting funding for SEN needs, level of funds from Government, reporting that for statutory services this is low.

57/24  HIGHWAYS

Chevron signage at entrance to Bentley – Partial works completed. Clerk to chase.

Rowley Road Pavement repair  – Barriers still in place. No updates in respect of repair. Further debate regarding ownership.

Speed Bumps (Green Lane, Playing Field Entrance). Works now completed.

Antique Style Lamps – request from Councillor Tunnicliffe. – This was asked if/should funding be agreed from RWE – could this be an agenda item for discussion. – Agreed.

58/24  GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

Humber Forest –  Agreed to Contact Lorna Herring and invite to view areas for potential planting.

Trees bordering Southwold – Document advising residents responsibility for the upkeep of the trees/hedges adjacent to properties on Southwold.

Handyman  – Grounds maintenance work to recommence. RESOLVED  Maximum of 30 hours per month. Schedule of works remains the same.

There being no further business, the Parish Council meeting closed at 9.05pm.
